The Make Shoppe is a handmade skincare and lip care brand that I co-own. The products are designed to feel fun, cute, and a little bit like affordable luxury, so it was important that the website captured that same feeling from the first impression.
The main challenge was finding the balance between a bold, colourful design and a user-friendly shopping experience. Since the brand is very visual, it would have been easy for the site to feel overwhelming or cluttered.
Another key focus was organizing the products—lips, soaps, and skincare—in a way that feels intuitive and easy to browse, especially on mobile.
I designed and built the website in WordPress using Elementor, focusing on creating a cohesive and playful experience throughout.
Some key things I focused on:
- A bright, consistent colour palette to reflect the brand personality
- Clear product categories (lips, soaps, skincare) to simplify navigation
- A mobile-friendly layout to ensure a smooth experience across devices
- Clean, visual product grids that highlight the products without feeling cluttered
- A custom orders page to make it easy for customers to request personalized products
I also worked with the layout and content to keep everything simple, clear, and aligned with the brand voice.
The final website feels fun, cohesive, and easy to use. It reflects the personality of the brand while still guiding the user clearly through the shopping experience.
It also creates a strong foundation for growing the business, with clear structure, mobile optimization, and the flexibility to expand the product range over time.
